Lately I’ve been thinking about life’s simplicities and how happy they can make a person. At the moment I’m trying to find a few simple aspects of my day that make me feel good inside, it’s all about turning that negativity into positivity. I think finding those simple pleasures in everyday life makes a significant difference to general outlook, I’m trying to do this more and more.
I’m learning that feeling happiness doesn’t have to be planned (e.g. booking and going on holiday, although that is extremely lovely) and you can still seek happy moments in everyday living.
I thought I’d share with you some of the simple things that make me happy, maybe you could take some of these things and turn them into your positive moments too.
A relaxing bath
It doesn’t take much to make a simple bath feel like a little place in heaven. Light a few candles, make lots of bubbles and pop a bath bomb in. Take your fave drink into the bathroom with you too! I like to put Epsom salts in my baths for relaxation, they’re also great if you have any aches in your muscles. I make my bath feel special every single night, it makes a big difference.
Buying your favourite coffee
As my college is in town, I like to sometimes treat myself to my fave drink afterwards. This is usually a coffee from Starbucks or Costa. Doing this instantly puts me in a better mood, even if I’ve had a bad day.
Taking in the pretty skies
If you’re like me, you’ll know how happy a fab looking sky can make you. I love looking at sunsets, also when the sky goes that pink/purple colour…do you know what I mean? I don’t know. But anyway, I love catching a beautiful sky.
Getting into bed after a long day
There’s no better feeling than dropping your bag, taking off your bra and getting into your own bed. This time of the day makes me EXTREMELY happy.
Eating your favourite sweet treat
Meeting that deadline
I feel so so so satisfied when I’ve finished and submitted an assignment. It may sound so so boring (then again, I’m queen of boring), but it really does make me feel so chilled when I know I’ve acheieved what needs to be done. It’s much like the satisfaction I feel when I’ve written and finished a blog post, which as you bloggers would know, it’s bliss.
“Sometimes we should express our gratitude for the small and simple things like the scent of the rain, the taste of your favorite food, or the sound of a loved one’s voice.” – Joseph B. Wirthlin
Hoping you’re all having a lovely, child Sunday and I’ll be back this weekend with another post. I have actually been writing a lot more lately because I’ve found the time. Though I’m sure after this weekend, I’ll be back to one post a week.
Love to you all.
