As I always bang on about on this blog, winding down is bloody important. If I’m really honest, I sort of have no choice but to do this otherwise I’ll lose my sanity…genuinely. Sundays are the day I have to myself, I try and focus these wonderful days around blogging and stuff related around that. A lot of people despise Sundays I know, but I have learnt to love them. For the past few weeks, I just haven’t done this (annoyingly) and not having any time to myself has really caught up on me- exhausted! So today, I did it. I haven’t done anyyyy work what so ever…except for writing this but doing what you love does not count as work if you ask me.
If you are fortunate enough to get a free day out of your busy week, use it wisely…or not, in a sense. Okay when I say wisely, I mean give yourself some lovin’. Stay in your pjs, eat your body weight in Ben n Jeryys and focus on something YOU enjoy doing. Even if that is watch netflix all day long, which doesn’t sound half bad to me, then do it. Having this day will always give you something to look forward to, even if your calendar is looking a lil bit bare. Obviously you don’t have to religiously make sure there’s nothing planned on these days, but I think it’s important to have a day where you’re doing you, nothing else. Revolving life around things you feel negative about it or trying to please other people is not what it’s about- doing what you adore is so so important. I actually know quite a few people who plan a day each month to go out on a shopping splurge, which I think is such a fab thing to do.
As I said in my previous post, it’s the little things.
I’ve found I absolutely love writing blog posts that I know I’ll look back on, and be thankful to myself for. So when I’m sat feeling guilty about not writing the 17th paragraph in my assignment, or not making the effort to look even slightly presentable, I’ll think “nope, I can do this and it is MY day”. You do it too.
I hope you’ve all had a beaut weekend, and have a lovely rest of the week.
