Simple details: your bedroom

Hello lovelies,

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been struggling to think of blog post ideas that are interesting enough to write about; it’s as if I’ve had a creative block. However, it soon dawned upon me that I could write about the room I’m sitting in right now, it’s weird how ideas are sitting there right there in front of you! So today I thought it wrote a lil bit about simple details you can add to your bedroom to make it feel just that bit more warmer, welcoming and wonderful. I think it’s so important to have a room that you love to wind down and be in, and if you live at home, this must be your bedroom! As well as this, these small ideas are great if you’re on a budget- it’s the small things that make a big difference.

So after rambling along, let’s get into this. NOTE: most of these things are from ikea, lol I love it.

I actually got this idea from my Aunty, I saw that she placed some fairy lights in a deep glass bowl which looked soooo cute. When I was venturing in ikea (there will be a running theme here), I saw that they had some jars and small packs of fairy lights displayed next to each other- oh it must be a room essential then! I think having a few jars with fairy lights (of any colour you want!) adds a warm touch to your space, and in my opinion, looks very Pinterest.

Fairy lights (shorter) – Ikea
Glass jar – Ikea
Sticking to the fairy light theme, adding these around your bedroom creates a gorgeous affect, especially in the evening where it’s getting dark outside. Something about fairy lights is extremely homely, I think if you ever go to uni or anywhere that’s new like that, fairy lights being put around your new place will make it feel more like home (I don’t know if that’s just me)!

Fairy lights (longer) – Ikea
Wardrobe (similar) – B&Q
So these details are on my desk, both in which make it A LOT nicer to look at. The plants make my desk and that corne of my room look much brighter and fresh, plus they’re fake so they take no looking after! I actually bought the small jars of clips, pins and paper holders after seeing Zoe Sugg talking about them on her YouTube channel, I just fell in love with the copper.

Plant pots – Ikea
Artificial potted plants – Ikea
Desktop accessory jars – Paperchase
As you can see, this picture collection is above my desk area. I think adding pictures that you like will add a personal touch to your bedroom, as well as helping to fill up big, bare wall spaces. Don’t get me wrong, I love a simplistic room, but if the pictures are displayed neatly and there are other walls with nothing on them, I think they look soooo good. Spacing them out will avoid your bedroom looking cluttered too, for me personally clutter stresses me out haha!

I think I’m insanely lucky to have a fireplace in my bedroom, I think they look so warm, pretty and homely. When my room was deceorated, it was my mum’s idea to add this girly touch to my fireplace and add some decoration. Having a bit of decoration makes it look much more interesting, rather than a boring, plain fireplace.

Wicker heart – Dunelm

Artificial peonies – Dunelm – If search artificial flowers online, you can get many different types for as cheap as £3 for a bunch!

I absolutely love wicker baskets/baskets of this style- I have 3 all together in my room including my bin, washing basket and this one. I just think they look so fresh, and look really pretty with things such as bath bombs in them. I thought by adding all my bath bombs to my Zoella gift basket, it gave a really lovely look in my room. Very random detail I know, but i feel it does make my room look all the more comforting and makes it smell AMAZING thanks to the lush bombs!

White wicker basket – Dunelm – obviously the Zoella hamper isn’t for sale anymore as it was a seasonal thing, but I found this really pretty crochet effect basket.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and hopefully it has given you a few little ideas.

Have a lovely day and rest of the week!

Love,

Cade
