Hey hey! Wow, I miss writing. How are you?
Things have been super busy for me on my end, which is actually what inspired me to create this post. I feel like it’s been a running theme at the moment in regards to feeling overwhelmed, so here I am, giving you a lil’ guide to help you melt that stress away.
It’s been a stressful time for so many over the last months, it really has. So now things are slowly moving forward, I’m finding (in myself and others) there’s slight anxiety with things going back to the ‘norm’. What the heck is normal anyway, as I always say!
So, let’s take the stress out of our norm… and engage in some stress-relieving activities. Here we go.
Create a tranquil setting
Do what makes YOU feel most at peace, but for me, lighting some candles and creating a hygge vibed surrounding creates so much peace. Grab a blanket, switch your fairy lights on and maybe even spray some of your fave perfume around. Put on some comfy clothes and make yourself feel as relaxed as possible!
Warm bubble baths
A bubble bath always does the trick – again, light some candles and maybe pop on a calming playlist. Meditation music could be fitting, as well as having a favourite drink of yours beside you.
Shift realities and immerse yourself in a book or a film/series
It always helps sometimes to forget the goings on around you, so why not shift your attention to another reality when things are getting overwhelming? I have always found this a ‘go-to’ when it comes to stress – comforting films = 10/10.
“I’m feeling stressed” – “Oh that’s too bad… have you tried meditation?”.
A common conversation I’m sure! But there’s a reason why it’s a staple exercise. Just 10 minutes of meditation can bring you to a more peaceful state of mind and balance those energies. Top tip! Try the app ‘Headspace’ to start your meditation journey.
Being cooped up can sometimes be a bad thing when things are stressful like the walls are caving in almost. There’s something quite freeing about stepping out of that environment into the fresh air, open space. You can always pop a podcast on whilst you walk or simply tune into your surroundings.
Well, most of my own hobbies are classed as quite chilled activities as anxiety is definitely present in my life. So, de-stress by engaging in something you genuinely enjoy doing to take your thoughts away to that place. If baking is your thing, go make those cookies and enjoy eating every single one of them… I give you permission.
Yeah, not really an activity but these definitely help with the stress levels! You can get an oil diffuser, or even just place a few drops of your fave essential oil on your wrists. Chamomile, lavender and bergamot are fabulous for those calm vibes!
Create your vision board
Transcend where you are right now to exactly where you want to be. You can do this on your phone (Pinterest is the place to be!) or simply cut out pictures of where you want to be and stick them on a board/paper. Look at those dreamy homes and vacays, visualise yourself living that life now!
Make sleep a priority
Sleep can be tough when we’re going through some stress, so definitely make sure you’re doing what you can to get those good nights of sleep. We want to be feeling fresh and energised- try meditation right before going to bed, putting on some calming sleep music and drinking chamomile tea.
Stay hydrated, always!
Keep your health in tip-top shape by staying hydrated. I always have my water bottle on hand throughout the day, owning a cute water bottle helps! We definitely do not function too well if we’re dehydrated.
Journal and set positive intentions
A great thing to do when feeling a little overwhelmed or stressed is to take yourself away to write. Ask yourself what exactly is making you feel unbalanced in your life and brainstorm some solutions – this doesn’t have to be huge things, keep it simple and don’t overthink. Set good intentions for your day by writing them down, as well as what you’re grateful for… big or small.
I hope this has been helpful, every action counts, even if things feel unsolvable. Remember to check in with yourself throughout the day and tune in to how you’re feeling, listen to what your body and mind needs.
Have a beautiful week my loves, and I’ll see you soon!
All the love,
