Hey, my lovelies! How are you? I’m so excited to get stuck into today’s post, probably because the topic is around something I adore. That something is CBD, more specifically, CBD oil for anxiety.
I have been using CBD oil (cannabidiol) for a few years now and it’s something I always urge people to try when they feel they’re suffering from anxiety. Now, CBD can be incredible – even lifechanging – for SO many different things, but I’m going to stick to my area of familiarity and dive into all things anxiety.
So, what exactly is CBD?
This is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical found in cannabis plants. Don’t be fooled, this is NOT anything that will make you feel like you’re away with the clouds. Well, maybe it will… who knows! But it doesn’t get you high, just know that.
Naturally, cannabis is sometimes related to another chemical component called THC – it’s this stuff that makes you feel ‘faded’. Which is sometimes lovely yes, but know that CBD is a completely different element to THC.
How does it work?
Put simply, your body has receptors which are attached to your cells. CBD is known to vibe with the receptors found in your nervous system, which is why it’s fabulous for anxiety and stress. You probably realise this is an extremely simple explanation, I’m no scientist! However, there’s TONS of research that has been done and is being conducted as we speak to explore deeper into this.
So, let’s chat about what CBD oil, in particular, can do for you.
Why CBD is the BOMB: personal experience
Just before I let you guys in on what I’m going to share, this is a kind reminder that it’s all from personal experience (as well as some family and friends experiences too!). For me, CBD oil has been a little bit of a lifesaver. Going back to around a year ago, I was working a job I absolutely hated. It triggered my anxiety in SO many ways – luckily I work for myself now and coach others with anxiety! It’s a dream. Anyways, back to CBD. This stuff helped me get into work on the days I felt powerless.
The calm I experienced within my body was just the best feeling ever.
I still use CBD oil daily to manage and prevent any panics throughout my day – however, know that I’m in a much better place. Life’s going to throw all kinds of plot twists at you, it’s inevitable. Even though I’m happy, my anxiety can still come knocking at the door.
All I do to take my CBD is to place two drops on my tongue up to twice a day. Usually, I’m alllll zen after my morning dose, but it can really aid my sleep too if taken before bedtime.
Keep in mind that I do a lot of other lovely stuff to help myself and my anxiety, but CBD oil is definitely part of the magical recipe.
Is CBD right for you?
The great thing is that CBD oil can come in various different strengths – CBII actually have a starter kit with a 2% and a 5%, to see which works best for you! Personally, I use 5%.
